Not the NANA Bounce

Well, I finally have started to write my blog.  The perfect granddaughter is now 6 months and I have just come up for air.  She is a handful.  All the books that my daughter and I have read have called this beauty, a High Needs Child.  What that really means is that she does not Sleep, she breast feeds every 2 hours, she does not like the car seat, she makes strange, she throws up a lot, But, when she smiles at us, which is frequent It makes everything right.   We feel that she has acid reflux and I would like to share how we have gotten along this far.
This first blog will be about a lifesaver, not the candy type but the Yoga ball.  We have bounced Blake, isn’t that a cute name for a little girl, on the yoga ball since we brought her home.  If we would not have stumbled onto the yoga ball, we would have had to do what we call “The Nana bounce”.  That was coined for my mother who had this unique bounce that settled my daughter and her cousins.  But after trying the bounce for myself it hurt my back and I therefore tried the Yoga ball.
After, a little practice, Blake’s Dad and I had the rhythm down pat and we were able to settle her down.  Robin was unable to bounce on the ball because she was recovering from a tough delivery.  So the bouncing was up to us and I must say if you have a grandchild who need comforting……please try bouncing on the ball.
Another small tip, if you need to bounce on the ball, get yourself several of them.  Blake’s parents have three balls, all on different floors of their home so they are accessible.
